Apple has released updated versions of its 14 – and 16-inch MacBook Pro, bringing a number of upgrades. The new laptop comes with 16GB of RAM as standard, up to 32GB/128GB, and a new M4 chip. The 14-inch model is equipped with the M4 chip and three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the 14-inch and 16-inch models with the M4 Pro and M4 Max chips support Thunderbolt 5 ports.

All models are equipped with a Liquid Retina XDR display offering a new nanotextured display option with SDR brightness up to 1000 nits and HDR brightness up to 1600 nits. In addition, the new MacBook Pro is equipped with a 12MP Center Stage camera and battery life of up to 24 hours, setting a new Mac battery life record.

The M4 chip integrates a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and has a memory bandwidth of up to 120GB/s. Apple claims that the new MacBook Pro offers nearly 10x improvements in AI workloads over Intel-based MacBook Pros, and up to 20x improvements in graphics-intensive workloads. With the support of the M4 chip, the new MacBook Pro can significantly improve performance when handling tasks such as high-resolution photo editing and complex scene rendering.

The new MacBook Pro also comes with a 12MP Center Stage camera, an immersive six-speaker sound system, and connectivity to two high-resolution external displays. The memory bandwidth of the M4 Pro chip is 75% higher than that of the previous generation, and the graphics performance is twice that of the M4 chip.

The M4 Max chip integrates up to 16 core cpus and 40 core Gpus, with a unified memory bandwidth of more than 500GB/s, and the performance of the neural network engine is more than three times higher than that of the M1 Max. The M4 Max MacBook Pro delivers significant performance gains for specific tasks, such as scene rendering with Maxon Redshift up to 7.8 times faster than the MacBook Pro with Core i9 processor.

In addition, the new MacBook Pro supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, the body is made of 100% recycled aluminum metal, all magnets use 100% recycled rare earth elements, and several printed circuit boards use 100% recycled tin solder, recycled gold plating and recycled copper. Apple also highlighted its environmental measures, including completely phasing out plastic packaging by 2025 and becoming carbon neutral in its global company operations, with plans to make its entire carbon footprint fully carbon neutral by 2030.
