SpaceX launches portable Starlink Mini, priced at $599

SpaceX has unveiled the Starlink Mini, a portable version of its satellite internet system that can fit easily into a backpack.

Early adopters of Starlink were given the opportunity to purchase the Starlink Mini kit for $599, a $100 premium over the standard kit. They also had the option to add the Mini Roam service to their existing plan for an additional $30 per month, with a monthly data limit of 50 gigabytes.

SpaceX plans to reduce the price of the kit in the future. Weighing just 2.5 pounds with the kickstand, the Mini antenna is 60% lighter than the standard dish and offers download speeds exceeding 100 Mbps. The first Starlink Minis are expected to be available in July.

This option is particularly attractive to travelers and provides a cost-effective backup internet connection. Currently, Starlink boasts over 3 million customers across 100+ countries.
