SONY has officially announced the launch of the PS5 Pro, a more powerful console that has been improved in several ways to bring players an even better gaming experience.
The PS5 Pro will be available on November 7 for $699.99. It looks similar to the slim version of the PS5, with three stripes on the side and no disc drive, but can be purchased separately with a 4K Blu-ray disc drive and an optional console cover.
Mark Cerny, chief architect of the PS5 console, said that the hardware upgrade for the PS5 Pro will increase rendering speed by 45%, while improving game detail and frame rate. This means that players do not have to choose between performance mode and fidelity mode, and can enjoy both high frame rate and high image quality.
The PS5 Pro also has enhanced ray tracing, which makes ray casting speed double or even triple that of the PS5, bringing more realistic light and shadow effects to the game. In addition, it comes with SONY’s new AI-powered PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) feature, similar to Nvidia’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR, which improves the game’s frame rate and image quality.
